MBBS, MS (Ophth), FRCS Ophth (Edinburgh), FRANZCO

Bheema studied Medicine and did postgraduate Ophthalmic residency in India. He then moved to UK and continued his higher specialist training in Ophthalmology and worked in many prestigious eye hospitals including Sheffield, Leeds, Birmingham and Nottingham University hospitals. He specializes in  Refractive laser & lens exchange surgeries, cataract surgery and medical retina including macular degeneration and diabetic retinal diseases. 

He is a Fellow of Royal Colleges of Edinburgh and a Fellow of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. He is also Member of Australasian and European Cataract and Refractive Societies and American Academy of Ophthalmologists. 

He has been in Hamilton, NZ since 2008. He is the Clinical Director for Ophthalmology department at Waikato Public Hospital, has private clinics at Hamilton Eye Clinic & Bridgewater day Surgery and does Refractive vision correction surgeries at Laser Eye Center. 

Bheema is married to Sudha, a Pathologist, specialist in cancer diagnosis, mum and his best friend. They are proud parents of an adult son Sahil and a teenage daughter Sasha & love their tiny Maltichon dog Milly. When he's not working, Bheema enjoys traveling the world, visiting family and friends, loves his motor bike rides, riverside runs and hiking beautiful NZ mountains over the summers.
