REFRACTIVE SURGERY ASSESSMENT

You must be 20yrs and over unless you have a specific need for assistance with your vision due to your occupation. The reason for this is the need to achieve a more stable prescription.

What is included in the free assessment?

  • A series of eye scans to assess your current eye health.

  • A meeting with an optometrist to discuss your suitability, process and any questions you have.

What is NOT included in the free assessment?

  • Our optometrist may recommend a trial with contact lenses before going ahead with laser surgery.
    There is a fee for this service to cover the cost of the contact lens.

  • Ongoing monitoring of any eye conditions identified incidentally during your assessment

  • If you have previously had any refractive treatment on your eyes, your assessment will incur a fee.

How do I prepare for my assessment appointment?

  • Contact lenses can distort the shape of the front surface of your eye, the cornea, and corneal measurements are crucial in LASIK calculations.

Therefore:

  • If you wear Soft Contact Lenses – please remove these 2 days before your appointment – if this has not been actioned, a charge may be applied to your appointment.

  • If you wear Hard Contact Lenses – please remove these 6 weeks before your appointment - if this has not been actioned, a charge may be applied to your appointment. If there are extenuating circumstance where this may not be achievable, please advise when booking your assessment.

  • Please bring any/all glasses you have with you to the assessment appointment.

  • When booking in for your assessment, please advise us of any previous refractive surgery details you have had – type, location, year. Please bring all available information/documentation you have on this previous surgery with you to your assessment

  • Same day assessments and refractive surgery is unfortunately not possible.
