Distance Vision

When Distance Vision (e.g. Driving, TV) is blurry without glasses or contact lenses - LASIK is a procedure that uses a precise laser to correct short-sightedness ('myopia'), long-sightedness ('hyperopia'), and/or astigmatism. This restores natural clear vision of your eyes and brings your world into focus

Problem

Distance (e.g. Driving, TV) blurry without glasses or contact lenses

Solution

LASIK is a procedure that uses a laser to correct near-sightedness, long-sightedness, and/or astigmatism. In LASIK, a thin flap in the cornea is created by a computer-controlled laser. The surgeon folds back the flap and the cornea is gently reshaped using our Zeiss MEL90 excimer laser.
LASIK delivers greatly enhanced vision and has been used successfully on millions of eyes. Not only do we trust this technology, so does NASA, which has approved LASIK for its astronauts.

Because of the superior accuracy of the latest Zeiss VisuMax® femtosecond laser, certain patients, who were previously ineligible for LASIK, may now be able to have their vision improved with this technology!

LASIK

Solution

SMILE is a minimally invasive procedure used to correct near-sightedness and mild to moderate astigmatism. In SMILE, a Zeiss femtosecond laser is used to create a 3D lenticule inside the cornea. The surgeon then gently removes the lenticule and leaves the top corneal layer without a flap.

SMILE is the world’s most advanced vision correction technique. Tested meticulously and available in over 70 countries worldwide, we are proud to offer this fast, effective procedure.

For eligible patients who want the fastest return to sport and outdoor activities, is here to help you live life as it should be.

Our Process

1.

Suitability Consultation

In the initial consultation, at any of our clinics, the optometrist will discuss the patient’s ocular history, general health, age, occupation, and hobbies in order to ascertain suitability for vision correction surgery.

A comprehensive ocular examination with scans and measurements of your eyes will be carried out. In some cases, extra checks may be required. For example, contact lens trials for blended vision in presbyopic patients.

Following the consultation, the patient watches the consent video, which outlines the surgical procedure in detail. When it is agreed that the candidate is suitable for the procedure, a patient consent form is signed. If you live outside the areas of our clinics, a consultation can also be arranged with your local optometrist.

2.

Vision Correction Procedure & Aftercare

This is the big day when your life will change. Family members are welcomed and encouraged to accompany patients during preoperative and postoperative consultations. After completing administration requirements, the patient will be taken to the preoperative area to be prepared for treatment.

The procedure itself will usually take 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the specific vision correction procedure. You’ll notice an immediate difference, and you’ll be given eye protection to help protect healing overnight. Most LASIK and SMILE patients’ vision will be substantially improved overnight. We will check your eyes the next day, and then provide prescribed check-up procedures.

3.

Enjoy your new eyes!

Throw away your glasses, contact lens kits, and buy normal sunglasses again. Never worry about fogging, breakages, losses, or even finding your reading glasses again.

Postoperative care is imperative to achieve a fast recovery. Our eye specialist will carry out a postoperative check the day following surgery. Additional postoperative visits can be made at our clinic, or at an appointed local optometrist. The cost of postoperative care is included in your surgical fee for up to six months following your treatment date.

4.

Consideration

In the experienced hands of a qualified surgeon, vision correction is safe and effective. As with any surgery, there are risks, which can be discussed with the ophthalmologist. Perhaps the most impressive testimonial comes from the many ophthalmologists who have chosen to have procedures for themselves.

The maximum limit of correction obtainable varies from one laser to another.

With now more modern Lasers like the ZEISS MEL90 and Zeiss VisuMax® femtosecond laser available, the treatable correction, precision and longevity has been greatly improved.

Our state-of-the-art ZEISS Lasers can treat a wider range than other Lasers in New Zealand. If you have been told that you are not suitable by another clinic, we might be able to help. Even if you are longsighted or have high astigmatism.
